The club keeps a studbook and breeds according to the
valid FCI standard. The BCD breeders endeavor to maintain and further
improve the success in German Briard breeding of recent years. The club
wants to offer not only a beautiful dog but also a dog of good health and
steady temperament to you.
The breeding dogs must meet special requirements: They
must have been awarded the conformation score "very good" by a specialty
judge of the breed at least in three shows and must prove themselves in
conformation as well as temperament at a club internal examination as to
suitability for breeding. They also must be tested for hip dysplasia (HD)
and CSNB.
